All London Green Grid

The All London Green Grid (ALGG) is an ambitious policy framework to promote the design and delivery of green infrastructure across London. The framework aims to increase access to open space and nature, conserve the natural heritage of the city, enhance sustainable living and promote green skills and productive landscapes.

The ALGG is embedded in the London Plan enabling Local Authorities to plan for green infrastructure ahead of development across London. J&L Gibbons were appointed by Design for London to prepare several frameworks which entailed detailed cross borough discussions, project identification and scoping, to highlight strategic links and partnerships between projects. Based on the landscape character of London, the area frameworks are evidence based and focus on key ALGG objectives, including improving access to open space and nature, managing flood risk, enhancing connections between distinctive destinations, healthy communities and promoting productive landscapes and skills.
