Fairlop Plain Connections Study
Location: London Borough of Redbridge
Date: 2009 - 2009
Client: Design for London & London Borough of Redbridge
J & L Gibbons were commissioned by the London Borough of Redbridge and Design to London to develop a vision for Fairlop Plain (500ha) as a strategic interconnected network of open spaces. The key outputs of the study were to identify the initial component parts of the network; improve access to open spaces both locally and across the region; identify barriers to access across the Plain and propose methods for overcoming these issues; identify high level strategic opportunities for development of the image and identity for Fairlop Plain and to schedule a list projects for delivery supporting an application for the Mayor of London Priority Parks initiative.

J & L Gibbons worked with Design for London to write the brief for a new masterplan for Fairlop Waters Country Park and sat on the selection panel for the appointment of the consultant team. The practice was retained on the client side to assist in the design review of emerging proposals.
